Introduction
The Kidane Mehret [Covenant of Mercy] Church is part of the Debre Genet Monastery in the modern part of Jerusalem. Emperor Yohannes II founded Debre Genet. The church was completed in 1901 with funds from Emperor Menelik II. The architect Conrad Schick, a former missionary of the St. Chrischona Pilgrim Mission, was involved in the construction.
Liturgical/ sacred music
The Kidane Mehret Church is where Ethiopian Orthodox Christians from the Jerusalem area gather for Divine services. The church is usually closed to visitors.
