This information was erroneously taken from the Oromo translation of the Gospel of Luke (1870).
On the title page of the book of Genesis in Oromo, ‘Jagan’ is named as its main translator. This is probably the same person as ‘Tchekten‘, an Oromo who stayed in St. Chrischona in the summer of 1872.
Krapf and Barkii had drafted an Oromo translation of the book of Genesis in the early 1840s. However, the manuscript was probably lost when he was robbed on his return journey to Massawa in 1842.
