Notes
“In 1928 it was reported that the Sudan Interior Mission, in association with the Abyssinian Frontiers Mission, had opened a Mission Station in the Sidamo Province of Abyssinia. Mr. Glen Cain, S.I.M., the missionary in charge, first of all translated some Bible stories, and then in 1932 he forwarded the translation of St. Mark’s Gospel in Sidamo, a language spoken by about 150,000 people. This is the first Gospel published for the peoples of Southern Abyssinia.” (BFBS Report 130 [1934], p. 329-30).
