Sidamu farsa [ሲዳሙ ፋርሳ, Sidaama songs]. Hawassa, 1978 (1970 A.M.). [84 songs]
Source: Ritter collection
Note
A songbook with 84 songs in the Sidaama language was printed in 1978 in a run of 5,000 copies. They were sold out within one year. The songbook has not been reprinted. Fisseha Sebkato had collected the songs.
Some songs were translations from Amharic, and others were traditional Sidaama songs—many of which were in responsorial form. Some songs were stories from the Bible. The same melody could be used for several texts, and often women were song-leaders. No instruments were used with the songs.
