Mihretab Taye [ምሕረትኣብ ታዬ] was born in 1987 (according to his Facebook page). He lived in Addis Ababa and worked as a gospel music composer and producer. Mihretab Taye passed away in 2024.

Since 1996 [A.M.], for the past 20 years approximately, Mihretab Taye has donated more than 2000 hymns to the kingdom of God. At studio level, he has worked with Natnael Befikadu, Daniel Eryetu, Muluken Legesse, Elias Tefera, Jixa Tadesse, Moges Lemma, Samuel Solomon, Mena Ayele, Yabets Tesema, Bereket Endale and also in seminary studio.
Musician Mihret Ab played keyboard, guitar and bass guitar. He has made songs in Amharic with the Amharic singers Tamrat Haile, Teddy Tadesse, Meskerem Getu (esp. the album “Ayzoh”), Agnehu Yideg, Henok Addis, Workneh Alaro as well as in other languages such as Oromo, Wolaytta, Hadiyya, Kambaata and Sidaama. He has also performed the songs of many singers.
